Praia do Guincho
A beach in the municipality of Cascais . On the Atlantic west coast , is very windy and offers good conditions for surfing , kitesurfing and windsurfing . This beach was made famous in the James Bond films " On his Majesty’s Secret Service" where James Bond saves the Contessa Teresa de Vicenzo from a suicide attempt . The beach is still as it was in 1969 . In the '90s , the guincho beach was one of the location for the World Cup Windsurfing Championship. Nowadays , various sporting events occur regularly in Guincho , including the National Championships Surf and Bodyboard .
Praia do Tamariz ( Estoril )
Located in Estoril , near the rail - way station, Tamariz beach is the most cosmopolitan in Cascais . Separated by the gardens of the Casino Estoril Marginal Road and rail line , is a tourist attraction of the region , bringing together various bars and clubs . Located next to the train and bus stations , it is one of the favourite destinations for those using public transport . It is located 450 meters from Hotel Londres.
The Azarujinha beach is the smallest in São João do Estoril , hidden at the bottom of a high cliff behind houses that line the Avenida Marginal .
The only pedestrian access is through the tunnel/walkway to the beach Pool. In addition to this access , there are two staircases , one on each end of the beach , connecting to Avenida Marginal . From the top of these stairs one can admire a magnificent view across the coast of Cascais .
The Moitas Beach Is situated between Cascais and Estoril , near the Monte Estoril train station.
The area , however , is rocky , forcing holidaymakers to enter cautiously into the sea and watch where they put their feet, so as not to get hurt .
Being situated on the pedestrian walway , halfway between Cascais and Estoril , the beach area has no parking and is accessible via a short walk or bike .
The Beach Pool is located in São João do Estoril , at one end of the promenade which stretches to Cascais . Is served by a small car park which has direct access to the Avenida Marginal .
The Duquesa Beach , is situated at the entry of Cascais, between the Palace of the Dukes of Palmela and Chalet Faial , who served as former judge in the court of Cascais . The name of the beach is due precisely to the fact that it was used by the Duchess of Palmela , during stays of in Cascais , for the bathing season.
Santa Marta Beach
Once a private beach house of the Earl Castro Guimarães , whose palace is a current museum has direct access to the beach , which is at the edge of the Cascais Marina , in the village center .
Natural Ocean Pool
Situated on the beach of Tamariz in Estoril , this is filled by the Atlantic Ocean. Formulated in 1953 , these pools are an innovative design for its relationship with the site .
São Pedro do Estoril Beach
The beach of São Pedro do Estoril is protected by a high cliff on the edge of Marginal Road. There are two accesses by staircase , plus a pedestrian tunnel under the road .
Often the sea has great waves that are quickly covered with surfers .
The beach Cresmina is one of the great beaches of Guincho area , alongside major Guincho beach itself. Following the road from Cascais , the Cresmina is the first beach to be sighted in a long stretch of sand dotted with dunes . As Guincho , the Cresmina suffers from strong winds in the area and severe sea.
Freshwater beach of Guincho
The beach of Freshwater , better known as the small beach of Guincho, is a small niche of sand between the beach and the great Cresmina Guincho beach . Its location makes it sheltered from strong winds that sometimes afflict neighboring beaches . Another attraction is the existence of a small ocean pool whose use. There is no Lifeguard, requires prudence and is sometimes not even impossible at times of high tide.
Praia do Abano
Situated at the northern end of the west coast of Cascais is a small unobtrusive beach sandwiched between rocky headlands close to Cabo da Roca . Located in the wake of Guincho , it is usually windy with a heavy swell . The approach to the beach is via a dirt road , accessible from the Guincho Road
